Snow Day
Half of my office isn't coming into work today — it's a snow day! The children I am housing sitting have the whole house to themselves, so hopefully they'll act crazy and have a really good time.
I wonder who IS going to come in today! Dr. Foster, certainly, but anyone else? Ben? Shane?
The walk to work was harrowing and hard work and wonderful. No one has gotten to their sidewalks — at least not enough to justify slogging through the sidewalks with a foot of snow on them. But the streets are somewhat packed down, so I walked in a single tire tread for most of Oak (or is it Cedar?) from Morgan to Lorain.
It might be a totally false sense of peace, but knowing that half the office is gone for the day makes me feel like I can take my own pace — that coming in on a day that most don't is somehow now a bonus working day, instead of a lost day for everyone else.
Today my house/teenager/dog-sitting adventure comes to an end. I'm thrilled to be moving back into my house, with my cats, my housemates, and my bed.
