Limericks

Avery started a limerick-trading tradition. Here are a few of the gems.

the first limerick, from december 13
there once was a lass named sarah
who sojourned on the french riviera
it was there that she met
a time-traveller name blanchette
and now the two live in the paleozoic era

Avery doesn't really adhere to the meter of the limerick; he is more concerned with content and the rhyme scheme. my first attempt was lame, my second was better.

take one:
i just had rehearsal with john
who occasionally i call bon-bon
it went really well
like a bat out of hell
and now I am mentally gone

take two:
the toes on his feet were quite dear
but while he was sleeping they'd peer
out from his old socks
at the stumbling blocks
that you scattered round his room, i do fear

this is from avery on december 16th:
there once was a chap named leprous slim
who often wept for his disease of the limb
but on one occasion
he ate a magical raisin
and was suddenly able to yim zim and flim

we built this one together, trading lines via email:
there's a peacock outside of my door
a ceramic one from the crimean war
it's giving off a smell
and from afar the death knell
rings before i have time to implore

I'm pretty sure that one is my favorite.
