Little Bits

The Family is in Ulysses; I am in Oberlin. Things are sad but warm there from the sound of an email I got from my dad. I'm not happy to have missed the warmth & support of a small town (I hear the food just keeps coming -- Coconut Cream Pies from the Mennonite Ladies, like nothing you (or I) could imagine), but I'm glad that I've had a couple of days to chill out before the semester starts -- coming back was a little strange. I believe my family will head home tomorrow, & that my mom & dad will come to Oberlin in 2 weeks for my recital.

Today is Caitlin's 21st Birthday.
Happy Birthday Caitlin! Oh my!

Tomorrow is the Superbowl, the next day is the first day of classes.

Titus sprained his wrist, so Solon is going to play the Brahms with me. He's ridiculous and wonderful. And what a sightreader. Oh my, what a sightreader. So we'll rock that pretty soon.

I had a lovely trip to Trader Joe's with Lauren & Sam. It was a nice place, but not a grocery store I would go 30 minutes out of the way to shop at, unless it were for a party. We had portabello mushroom ravioli & artichoke ravioli mixed with sauteed onion, garlic, & spinach. For desert, we had a Key Lime Pie with Raspberries! The Raspberries were perfect - they complemented the citrus flavor perfectly. I was very hungry at the store, so I bought plenty of things I don't need (hazelnut cookies, bran muffins, baby yogurt). Lauren is great to be around, although sometimes it's hard not to talk about work stuff or voice-major stuff. It was waaay too long since we last passed hours together. Silly silly silly.
