Heard a talk last night by David Spergel about the beginnings of the universe and its shape. It was particularly exciting given the article that came out in Nature that claims that the universe it finite, and in the shape of a soccer ball. The BBC reports. Dr. Spergel then proceeded to thoroughly disprove the theory. It was fantastic.
